John Zeglis is the Founder and Principal Owner of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA D-League. He is also the retired Chairman and CEO of AT&T Wireless Services, and was president of AT&T prior to the spin-off of AT&T Wireless in year 2000.

Mr. Zeglis grew up in Momence, Ill. He spent his undergraduate years at the University of Illinois where he was valedictorian of his 1969 class in the College of Commerce and Business Administration. He is a 1972 magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, where he was a senior editor of the Harvard Law Review and won a Knox Memorial Fellowship for a year of postgraduate study in law and economics in Europe.

Mr. Zeglis began his career in law in 1973 as an associate with Sidley & Austin. He became partner in 1978, and on January 1, 1984, he joined AT&T as corporate vice president - law. Mr. Zeglis was named AT&T's executive vice president and general counsel in 1986. While retaining that title he served in a series of executive assignments with increasing responsibility before being elected vice chairman in June 1997. Later that year, he was named president. In December 1999, Mr. Zeglis was elected chairman & CEO of the AT&T Wireless Group. In April of 2000 AT&T Wireless conducted an IPO, and in July of 2001, AT&T distributed the remaining stock in AT&T Wireless, making Wireless a fully independent company . John continued as CEO of AT&T Wireless until retiring in November, 2004, following the company's sale to Cingular Wireless.

Mr. Zeglis is a member of the board of trustees of the Culver Educational Foundation, Culver, Indiana, and the Marshall County Community Fund. He also served as chairman of the board of trustees of George Washington University, Washington D.C. Other past associations include: trustee of the United Negro College Fund; member of the University of Illinois Business Advisory Council, The Northwestern University Kellogg School Advisory Council, and the University of Washington Business School Advisory Council; member of the board of the Council for Aid to Education; member of the National Commission for Higher Education; and member of the Drew University Visiting board.

Mr. Zeglis has been a guest lecturer on the campuses of the University of Illinois, Northwestern University, Michigan University, Yale School of Business, Harvard School of Business, Duke University and the University of Washington.

He is a director of the Helmerich and Payne Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Georgia Pacific Corporation, Atlanta, Georgia and State Farm Insurance, Bloomington, Illinois.
