"Opulent AV's passion for high quality audio and video was evident in every project they had undertaken."
- Hawkesbury Valley Holden (originally Hawkesbury Valley Motors), opened for business in September 1949, and has been proudly supplying and servicing new Holden vehicles for nearly 60 years.
- Owned and operated by Norma Needham and Robert Vernon since March 1993, the premises have been totally re-built since 2006 at a cost of $9 million. The facility now features all weather customer parking and driveway service reception with valet parking, a sales showroom, service and parts division, service workshop and an 80-seat training facility.
- The owners had previous exposure to the AV project manager, Opulent AV, through the works undertaken at their residence. They were impressed with the results achieved and contracted Opulent AV to manage the dealership project. As a result of the refit, Hawkesbury Valley Holden became a HSV Dealership which automatically elevated the business to a new level.
The Vision
- The vision of this project was to evolve the business into a technologically advanced, futuristic dealership, where customers feel relaxed in a comfortable environment.
"Customer service is our policy. Our aim is to provide the ideal environment – music, video, temperature and signage – and to resolve any distraction that may arise and affect us making a deal," says Needham.
- "It was also critical that all this technology was easy to use and totally automated to the point that the staff didn't have to worry about anything." Additionally, all installations needed to be of the highest quality to attract the top end (HSV) market.
The Vision Becomes Reality
- Having seen the audio visual results achieved in their own home, the principal knew that Opulent AV was their partner of choice. "Opulent AV's passion for high quality audio and video was evident in every project they had undertaken," Needham stated. The dealership needed extensive renovations so the timing for the upgrade of the AV requirements was perfect. It was decided that the dealership be divided into different areas and given its own atmosphere. From the reception area to the training facility to the kids' room. Each area has its own music and video content, suited to the visitors' tastes. The 80-seat training facility has been positioned in a new building and is equipped with the latest audio visual technology enabling Holden head office to communicate directly with Hawkesbury Valley Holden in the most effective and efficient way. The training facility is also used by community groups, client entertainment and business promotion activities.
The Solution
- An AMX MAX Media Server was installed by Opulent AV to easily store, manage and distribute all the audio and video media to the various spaces throughout the dealership. MAX enables Hawkesbury Valley Holden to select music and make custom playlists that meet the customer's listening requirements in each designated area. The AMX NetLinx Control System then schedules and automates each of the playlists and provides and ability for manual override via the conveniently positioned AMX Modero Touch Panel. The Modero Touch Panels enable the managers to take immediate control of the video and audio in each space. The touch panel user interface is extremely user-friendly and allows for easy navigation through the menus. The design of the touch panel user interface is in-line with the 'look and feel' of Holden HSV.
