Modero X Series Panoramic Touch Panels Firmware

Prerequisites:

  • TPDesign4 3.2.0 build 661 or later, with G4 Support Files version 3.2.42 or later
  • Intercom module v1.9 or later (if using with Intercom)
  • SIP module 2.11 or later (if using with SIP)

Changes in This Release:

  • Support for new 7" and 10" Modero X Touch Panels
  • Support for MXA-MP
  • Support for custom event notification when a URL resource is loaded
  • Support for Secure and DoD Security Modes
  • Fix for issue when repeatedly accessing the camera
  • Fix for occasional missing first and/or last column of pixels
  • Sensor firmware version is now available on Setup pages and in Netlinx Studio

Known Issues:

VIDEO:

  • The following streaming video modes are supported: MPEG2 video and MP2/MP3 audio over MPEG2 Transport Streams, and Motion JPEG over HTTP. H.264 Video is not initially supported. Max supported resolution of source stream is 720p (<8Mbps).
  • Significant downscaling of video or accelerated Motion JPEG can result in noise, pixelation and/or audio glitches. To improve performance, reduce the resolution of source video if possible, and/or increase the window size on the panel. Also, preserve aspect ratio if possible.
  • Hardware accelerated video decoding (MPEG2, MJPEG) windows greater than 1024 pixels in height (in portrait mode) will be truncated to 1024 pixels.
  • Using a Motion JPEG defined in the Resource Manager with Dynamo checkbox checked may lead to unexpected results. To use accelerated Motion JPEG in a subpage, you should enable Streaming Video Fill (under State properties in TPD4) and specify the URL (http://username:password@host/path/file.mjpg) in the "Streaming Source" field.
  • The only supported camera mode for this release is exported via Micro USB to a PC. The camera can be previewed in the setup pages, but there is a known issue that flipping into and out of preview mode may lead to a loss of video (requiring a reboot to correct). The camera URL should not be used in user pages.

GRAPHICS:

  • The Page Curl transition is not supported in this release.
  • Any animations present on the destination page will freeze during the transition, then continue (note this is different from MVP-9000i behavior).

Modero MVP-5150/MVP-5200i Touch Panel Firmware

Prerequisites: The panel must be installed with v2.66.21 or greater before upgrading

Changes in This Release:

  • Added support for the detroit screen replacement
  • Added international fonts and gesture support
  • Minor bug fixes

Known Issues:

  • The time it takes from cold boot to when the panel displays its first page has significantly increased compared to version v2.66.33 (pre-International Fonts feature). The panel is still loading resources after the first page is displayed further increasing the time for the panel to react to the first button press.
  • Some 16 bit .wav files will not play properly.
  • Some fonts with incorrect or missing cmaps will not render the same on the on the panel as in TPD4.
  • Some large projects that used most of the available RAM will no longer load due to a decrease in available RAM to support the new font rendering engine. This typically results in the panel jumping to the setup pages but sometimes results in a black screen.
  • Some buttons with active touch will see the button respond to touches in the inactive area.
  • Function Show does not show on all buttons.
  • Panel will establish a connection to the master when the Master Port Number is 0.
  • Panel will sometimes connect to the master but display "Attempting via Ethernet" on the setup pages.
  • Transitioning out of Standby mode can take up to 45 seconds.
  • Panel will not connect using Dynamic WEP in Enterprise Mode.
  • Site Survey can be intermittently sluggish. This is corrected with a panel reboot.
  • WiFi channel reporting is incorrect on setup pages when the radio is set to France or Spain mode.
  • If the panel goes into a low battery shutdown mode while in Standby, the Sleep setting reverts to the minimum value.

Modero MVP-5100 Touch Panel Firmware

Prerequisites: v2.66.21 or later must be installed

Changes in this release:

  • Resolved a memory leak issue that could potentially affect the responsiveness of the touch panel, and in some extreme cases cause the touch panel to become unresponsive.

Known Issues:

  • The time it takes from cold boot to when the panel displays its first page has significantly increased compared to version v2.66.32 (pre-International Fonts feature). The panel is still loading resources after the first page is displayed further increasing the time for the panel to react to the first button press.

MVP-5100
Modero MVP-8400 and MVP-8400i Touch Panel Firmware

Changes in this release
Boot:

  • Added support for large (2 GB or greater) Compact Flash Cards.

User Interface:

  • New touch calibration algorithm which provides more accuracy and corrects for nonlinear error in the touch overlays. The new algorithm adds more points to the touch calibration.

Setup Pages:

  • Added new calibration page compatible with the new touch calibration.

Known Issues:

  • When downgrading from 2.86.xx or later to a version of 2.85.xx or earlier a reset of the system settings is required.
  • When connecting to the panel via USB (i.e. firmware transfer, panel file download, telnet, etc) the cable should be disconnected *before* a reboot. If it is still connected there is a small possibility that the panel will boot and detect a USB issue and reboot again. This reboot cycle will continue, never leaving the splash screen, until the panel is power cycled or shutdown. This is not a new problem. It has been an issue with the manufacturers USB driver for many years. However, previously the panel would just hang on the splash screen and the panel would require a power cycle. Because we have made things more robust we now try to reboot the panel whereas before we did not. Thus, the error does not get cleared and the reboots continue. A simple power cycle or shutdown using the external buttons will clear this issue.

MVP-7500
Modero MVP-9000i Touch Panel Firmware

Order updated FCC label – no charge

Prerequisites:

  • Master FW capable of hotswapping build 439 or later
  • TPDesign4 3.0 build 634 or later
  • Intercom module v1.9 or later
  • SIP module 2.11 or later

Changes in this release:

  • Added support for CCX Version 4
  • Added Band Selection control to select 802.11a band, 802.11b/g band or 802.11a/b/g bands on the wireless settings page
  • Added feature to modify the DTMF tone duration to improve compatibility with auto attendants
  • Changed selection for the Active Roaming control to "Enabled" or "Disabled"
  • Fixed several stability and authentication issues in EAP-TTLS, EAP-FAST and EAP-PEAP modes
  • Fixed issue where the Pop Up pages in the same group were not mutually exclusive
  • Fixed issue where the panel drops offline when controlled through VNC when there is a dynamic image on a pop up page
  • Fixed lockup issue when the CCX client location measurement on Cisco controllers is enabled
  • Fixed issue with levels not displaying correctly on values above 9
  • Fixed issue where Virtual keypad sends keys multiple times
  • Fixed issue where the panel roamed to the 802.11a band even though it was set to roam on 802.11b/g band
  • Fixed issue where the panel did not use the ISCP port setting on the Network/Systems Settings/Master page

Known Issues:

Dock and Undock:

  • If a panel is docked, any loss of network connectivity on the wired interface (such as a connected switch going down) may lead to unexpected issues like one way voice or inability to connect to remote servers (e.g. for SIP, dynamic images).
  • If the wired interface will not be used (in other words, the docking station is being used for panel storage and charging only), the Wired network settings should be left at their factory defaults (DHCP).

Table Dock Latch:

  • When the panel is removed from a dock with the Table Dock Latch set to "off" it will take longer for the panel to reconnect wirelessly than usual. The panel waits for the master to timeout the device number, and then reconnects to the master with the same device number. With non-encrypted ICSP, the panel disconnects and reconnects to a master in about 3-4 seconds. Encrypted ICSP will take around 15-20 seconds to reconnect. It is recommended not to use wired ethernet if the panel is set to forced undocks to avoid the transition time between wired and wireless modes.

USB:

  • TPD4 file with wrong resolution can be downloaded.
  • OTG USB host is sometimes not recognized upon plugging in. Unplugging and replugging should fix.

Power Management:

  • Effective with this build, Sleep cannot be disabled; some sleep timeout must be configured (defaults to the maximum value of 2 hours).
  • The panel cannot enter full standby mode if there is a USB device plugged in or MicroSD card inserted.

Intercom and Dynamo:

  • When the panel is connected wirelessly (particularly with a weak signal) and streaming audio and video with a MET-ECOM, the video rate may slow to a few frames per seconds. This can cause the MET-ECOM to send bad frames which can lead to occasional video freeze and one-way or no audio.

IP:

  • If a Static IP is set on the wired (or wireless) settings in the same subnet range as the USB (172.16.x.x), the gateway populates with 255.255.255.255. This is only cosmetic and does not impact the performance

Wireless:

  • The roaming/band changes may cause the panel roaming settings to change during the upgrade process, double check the roam settings after upgrading if you are using active roaming.

Programming Information:

After upgrading you MUST resave wireless settings. You do not have to reenter the settings

Open wireless page and press save

Band Selection: Note - The band selection will effect what you see when doing a site survey

802.11a/b/g -> A and B bands, all channels

802.11b/g -> B band, channels 1,6,11

802.11a -> A band, all channels

Active roaming:

Disabled -> Roaming is passive, and will only occur when the panel loses connection to its current access point

Enabled -> The panel is actively looking for better access points to roam to
